THE LITURGY OF THE WORD

FIRST READING (제 1독서)

A Reading from the Book of Wisdom  3:1-9

The souls of the just are in the hand of God,

    and no torment shall touch them.

They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead;

    and their passing away was thought an affliction

    and their going forth from us, utter destruction.

But they are in peace.

For if before men, indeed, they be punished,

    yet is their hope full of immortality;

chastised a little, they shall be greatly blessed,

    because God tried them

    and found them worthy of himself.

As gold in the furnace, he proved them,

    and as sacrificial offerings he took them to himself.

In the time of their visitation they shall shine,

    and shall dart about as sparks through stubble;

they shall judge nations and rule over peoples,

    and the Lord shall be their King forever.

Those who trust in him shall understand truth,

    and the faithful shall abide with him in love:

because grace and mercy are with his holy ones,

    and his care is with his elect.

번제물처럼 그들을 받아들이셨다.

그루터기들만 남은 밭의 불꽃처럼 퍼져 나갈 것이다.

8 그들은 민족들을 통치하고 백성들을 지배할 것이며

주님께서는 그들을 영원히 다스리실 것이다.

9 주님을 신뢰하는 이들은 진리를 깨닫고

그분을 믿는 이들은 그분과 함께 사랑 속에 살 것이다.

은총과 자비가 주님의 거룩한 이들에게 주어지고

그분께서는 선택하신 이들을 돌보시기 때문이다.

SECOND READING (제 2독서)

A Reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to Romans  6:3-9

Brothers and sisters:

Are you unaware that we who were baptized into Christ Jesus 

were baptized into his death?

We were indeed buried with him through baptism into death, 

so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead 

by the glory of the Father, 

we too might live in newness of life.

For if we have grown into union with him through a death like his, 

we shall also be united with him in the resurrection.

We know that our old self was crucified with him, 

so that our sinful body might be done away with, 

that we might no longer be in slavery to sin.

For a dead person has been absolved from sin.

If, then, we have died with Christ,

we believe that we shall also live with him.

We know that Christ, raised from the dead, dies no more;

death no longer has power over him.

<우리는 새로운 삶을 살아가게 되었습니다.>

형제 여러분,

3 그리스도 예수님과 하나 되는 세례를 받은 우리가 모두

그분의 죽음과 하나 되는 세례를 받았다는 사실을 여러분은 모릅니까?

4 과연 우리는 그분의 죽음과 하나 되는 세례를 통하여

그분과 함께 묻혔습니다.

그리하여 그리스도께서 아버지의 영광을 통하여

죽은 이들 가운데에서 되살아나신 것처럼,

우리도 새로운 삶을 살아가게 되었습니다.

5 사실 우리가 그분처럼 죽어 그분과 결합되었다면,

부활 때에도 분명히 그리될 것입니다.

6 우리는 압니다.

우리의 옛 인간이 그분과 함께 십자가에 못 박힘으로써

죄의 지배를 받는 몸이 소멸하여,

<Profession of Faith>- Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. 

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. 

God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. 

For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. 

He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. 

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. 

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, 

who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. 

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. 

I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. 

<The Universal Prayer> - 보편 지향 기도  

+ In faith, we know that God hears our prayers and forgives our sins.  Let us offer to him the needs of this community. Let us turn to him with our needs. 

1. That all our beloved dead find eternal rest in the hope of the resurrection of Christ, our Redeemer and Savior, we pray to the Lord. ◎ Lord, hear our prayer.

2. For the Church, that she may offer the consoling ministry of Christ to those who grieve, we pray to the Lord. ◎ Lord, hear our prayer.
